As Promised...........................

I promised last week that I would reveal the person that is taking over my Izannah Walker doll molds.  It is Lynda Hampton of Kangaroo Island, Australia.  Her site is www.thelittlehamptons.com
Do take a look!  She has now finished her first small Izannah Walker doll since receiving the molds and supplies from me.
Lynda is very excited with this new venture and I wish her all the luck in the world as I know how exciting it was for me to paint that first head!!  I know she is working on more Izannah Walker dolls so do check her site often.

All my best,
Kathy

Read below...........

To all of you who have been on this Izannah Walker journey with me and have followed my progress and purchased my dolls, I humbly thank you.

I made the decision a while ago to let go of the “Izannah Walker Doll” part of my doll making business.  My heart truly is in making English Wooden Queen Anne style dolls so that will be my main focus now.  For several years now I have made Izannah Walker dolls and loved every moment of the sewing, painting and making those 1850’s little dresses!

I think I have a achieved what I set out to do, and that was to be able to make Izannah Walker dolls that looked like Izannah’s dolls.  I went to the very expensive task of making molds off of 3 of the 6 antique Izannah Walker original dolls that I sought out, purchased and studied.  Just to be able to hold the originals and study how they were made and feel the history in my hands gave me all the inspiration I needed to make Izannah Walker dolls.  The journey has been wonderful and fulfilling and a great creative challenge for me.  For this, I thank Izannah Walker for showing the world her amazing talent in the field of early doll making through her portrait dolls.

I will be disclosing in a week or so the person that is taking over my molds, patterns, and tips.  She is as equally excited to be making these dolls with my original molds as I was when I made my First Izannah Walker doll.  I will be happy to share this info and a link to her site just the moment she lets me know I can share the secret!!

If you have questions or would like more photos of my “LAST” Izannah Walker Doll just email me: toysintheattic@sympatico.ca

19 1/2" Izannah Walker doll with ringlets............................SOLD

I will be adding more photos as soon as I can but I just wanted to share some photos of my latest 19 1/2" Izannah Walker doll that is finished and SOLD.
She is a bare foot Izannah with handmade socks and shoes.  She also has amazing antique undergarments that consist of bloomers, petticoat and a darling chemise, all made from hand stitched very early pieces from the England.
Her dress is amazing and again made from early calico from about 1850-1860.  It is faded brown and faded reddish pink.  I also made her a calico bonnet that co-ordinates with her dress.  I do not care for bonnets on Izannah dolls but they are wonderful to display with them.
Enjoy these photos for now and as soon as the sun goes down I will take some more.  If you have any questions or would like more photos before I can get them on here just email me:  toysintheattic@sympatico.ca
Thanks for dropping by!
Kathy

SOLD

This Izannah has really wonderful ringlets!!
7 of them, 5 across the back and one on each side of her head in front of her ears.

Ignore the shine on her head, that is my flash.  She has a wonderful warm patina.

Here are some "in the making" photos so you can see her wonderful undies!

................and of course her dress.  Love the antique fabric, ignore the messy work area!

SOLD
I just have to share the lovely email that I just received from the lady who bought this Izannah!
Joy oh joy, there’s great excitement here with the arrival of Izannah ‘three’ whom i have named Charlotte. Kathy, she is so lovely, her dear little face has the sweetest expression... oh my, and her clothing is perfect in every way, simple adorable.. i love the fabric and i love how her sweet chemise can be exposed over her shoulders.  Oh her sweet little socks & shoes, there’s so much loveliness, i just can’t put her down, there’s so much to take in, i don’t want to miss a thing lol. Thank you also for the fabric scraps, which i will include in the quilt i plan to make for her.

I thought you’d like to see a photo of the three Izannah sisters. I’ve placed Charlotte, on the cane chair in my bedroom, with her sisters.. i’m so pleased they fit together so snugly.  Charlotte’s a little taller than her sisters and she looks just right in the middle, don’t you think?

I love that they all look similar, but with very individual facial expression. They are lovely beyond words, Kathy, and i truly appreciate the love and care you put into creating each of these unique dolls... i love and treasure my Izannah dolls!!

Thank you so much,

A Trousseau fit for a "Queen Anne"........................I have just added some more photos, do scroll down and take a look!

Sometime soon, I hope, there will be a large wooden Queen Anne doll available that will be so excited to wear all of these pieces that I have made for her......plus some more.  I have been working on this trousseau for quite some time now and I also found the perfect antique wooden box to display all the clothing and eventually the doll in as well.
I thought it was time that I share with you some of the things I have been making here in preparation of a 24-25" fully jointed wooden Queen Anne doll being finished.  She will have glass eyes and be of the era of about 1725.
We are getting out lives back in order here after the massive fire that we suffered in November and soon I can be working on wooden dolls again........
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I have enjoyed all the tedious work that has gone into reproducing these pieces.
Note the matching hand quilted petticoat, corset and pair of pockets.....Love, love, love them!
And the shoes.........it is all about the accessories as you know!
Everything you see here is all hand stitched and made by me from fabulous antique fabrics that I have been waiting to use on a very special doll.
If you would like more photos, or have questions, just email me:  toysintheattic@sympatico.ca
Enjoy!

Below you will see her 2 piece very early embroidered silk panelled skirt and petal bottom bodice with 3/4 sleeves.
Both are lined with early brown glazed cotton lining and all hand stitched........my fingers are raw!

Stomacher with wonderful patina and all hand stitched.......

20" Izannah Walker Doll....................SOLD

With much hesitation I have decided to put this 20" Izannah Walker doll on my site for sale.  I was sure I could not part with her but I will.  She has bare feet with little stitched toes and is wearing little handmade socks and shoes that I made just for her.  Her undergarments are nothing short of wonderful and are all hand stitched and made from a very early antique baby gown from the UK.  Her dress is made from some amazing antique 1860's calico that I had been saving for a special doll.  She also has a handmade straw bonnet with matching fabric.  She has 5 loose soft ringlets across the back of her neck and swooped hair on the sided of her head.  You really can see the strands of her hair and it is amazing but hard to get photos of.  I cannot tell you how much nicer this doll is in person..............another reason I thought she might just live with me!
She is SOLD and if you have questions or would like more photos just email me: toysintheattic@sympatico.ca
Thanks for looking!

She is tattery and faded and worn but all in all I am pleased with her.  Sadie was a challenge for me to try and I hope you enjoy her photos.
Sadie is my number one of this type and signed and dated.
Enjoy.

My First 19" Bare Foot Izannah Walker Doll ................SOLD

This is a first for me, a bare foot Izannah Walker doll completed and she is Fabulous if I do say so myself!
She has wonderful matching 3pc undergarments just like old Izannahs and little socks!  Her dress is made from some very early rare calico in shades of madder, cream and mauve.  I made her a pinafore apron with trim.  Just to make her special she also has a straw bonnet trimmed in companion faded fabric to match her dress.  She has 5 soft ringlets across the back of her neck and a ringlet on either side of her face.  Lots of fine painting in this hair style!  She is special!
She has darling little shoes that I made just for her that very closely resemble the old early shoes of her time.
She is so much nicer in person than these photos.  Her dress is not nearly as bright as it looks here.  The fabric is fabulous and early.

If you have questions just email me.  toysintheattic@sympatico.ca

I decided to share a few photos of her as I was working on her...................She is now finished and SOLD.
