14" Violet is finished.......

SOLD

This is Violet. She is 14" tall and dressed in very old fabric from head to toe. Her slippers are antique silk.
She is fully jointed and hand carved from basswood that grows on our property.
Violet's clothes are all hand stitched and a little tattered! She was not the bell of the ball, she might have been the seamstress that sewed for the Lady's of the castle!
She really has a nice old look to her.
If you would like more photos or information, just email me toysintheattic@sympatico.ca
Thanks for looking.

Olive, Mildred's sister is all dressed now.....

SOLD

Olive was naked for a couple of weeks and getting chilly here in the north, so I dressed her. She is in very old fabrics and a hand quilted petticoat. All of her clothing is hand stitched. Her slippers are silk. Olive is fully jointed and all hand carved from basswood that grows on our 200 acres of bush.

She has a gentle face and the wear and patina on her face is wonderful. Click any photo to make it full screen so you can see the details.
She is fashioned after the wonderful William Higgs style that I love so much. Both Mildred and Olive Higgs are now finished and available. If you have questions or would like more photos just email me toysintheattic@sympatico.ca or call me at 705 489-1046.

27 1/2" Nettie is finally dressed....AND SOLD

SOLD

Here is the Huge Nettie doll that I have been putting off dressing. I loved her in her underclothes sitting in my kitchen window, but, in all fairness, she really did need clothes!
These are not the most flatering photos of her in my kitchen..........but she looks so good in our red kitchen!
She is all hand carved from basswood and if she were old, she would be from around 1720-1740 in style and clothing. Her clothing is all hand stitched and made from antique fabrics. She has layers of clothing that include a chemise, petticoat, quilted petticoat, over-skirt, and a bodice/corset to match. Her pinball waist hook has a pair of scissors in a shaft, a silk pinball and a secret key! Her cap is made from a fabulous early baby cap that I cut down to fit her huge head. Her eyes are antique black pupiless eyes and slightly turned down. Nettie's eyebrows and eye lids are dotted with tiny dots just like her ancient sister's were. Her face is very serene and her patina would pass for old. She is delightful! If you are interested in a huge Queen Anne doll, she is wonderful.
