12" Lizzy, hand carved Queen Anne doll .......................................SOLD

This is 12" Lizzy. She is hand carved from Basswood that grows here on our property.
She is back from a long journey and is ready for spring and picking wildflowers in a meadow.  She is now SOLD.  If you are interested in her just email me:  toysintheattic@sympatico.ca
Lizzy is so sweet and has that typical egg shaped Queen Anne head with glass eyes like the wooden dolls of the later part of the 1700's.  She is dressed in early Jacobean print cotton and of course has her little handmade silk slippers made just for her, by me!

If you would like more photos or have questions, just email me:  toysintheattic@sympatico.ca

Oh, she's so lovely! Ever considered making and selling just the wee silk slippers? They're always adorable.

She is so beautiful. I love how you do the whip stitches around the neckline and waist. It adds so much character!
I love her hair and face! so pretty!

Your dolls are beautiful and I am absolutely fascinated with your shoes. Where did you learn to make them?

Hi, Kathy
It is so special you have Basswood growing on your property. I think Basswood similar to the Linden Tree which grows in France. Your dolls are gorgeous! I am in Dixie Redmond's Izannah Walker Workshop, and have continued on still trying to finish my first three I.Z. dolls...I have the first layer of paper clay over the head and torso, but that is as far as I have progressed.
I will enjoy coming to your blog and just became a follower.
Have a lovely rest of the week!
